Simple Plan..

Ever heard the songs, "Untitled", "Welcome to My Life", "I'm Just A Kid", and "Addicted"?



These are just some of the songs popularized by my long-time favorite band, Simple Plan. Simple Plan is a Canadian pop punk band. It started with the formation of a band named Reset by high-school friends Pierre Bouvier, Chuck Comeau and Adrian White. But presently, the members of the band are Jeff Stinco (Lead Guitar), Chuck Comeau (Drums), Pierre Bouvier(Lead Singer), Sébastien Lefebvre (Rhythm Guitar & Backing Vocals) and David Desrosiers (Bass Guitar & Backing Vocals). The origin of the band's name is obscure until now. Band members have given various responses on this point, including a liking for the movie A Simple Plan; that the band was their simple plan to avoid getting a "real" job; and that the name was only intended to be temporary, but they never thought of anything better, and with shows coming up for the new band, they needed a name and that's it.

I am very proud to say that I own a copy of their second album entitled "No Pads, No Helmets...Just Balls". They opened for Avril Lavigne on her "Try To Shut Me Up" Tour (wow! My favorites). They had even coe here in Manila, Philippines to do their concert tour with Avril. But unfortunately and impossibly, I dadn't had the chance to go there and watch them myself.


Since February 2006, the band has not undertaken any significant tours, but has been working on their third CD (wich excites me a lot), deemed by Alternative Press magazine to be one of the most eagerly anticipated of 2007. Along with the band, the members of Simple Plan have been involved in a number of side projects which really prove that they are such nice guys.



The members of Simple Plan have helped nonprofit and advocacy groups by donating to many established organizations such as the MTV Asia Aid benefit, MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving), RADD (Rock Against Drinking and Driving), and the Make-A-Wish Foundation and more. However, after being frustrated because the members did not know exactly where their money was going to, the Simple Plan members created the Simple Plan Foundation, a foundation that focuses on teen problems ranging from suicide to poverty to drug addiction(they really care a lot to us, teens). No information regarding the foundation's activities has been released since then (how sad).

Damage Control was a reality television series hosted by Pierre where parents would tell their teenage son or daughter that they would be going away over the weekend, but in actuality, they are just a few houses down monitoring them with Pierre. The teenager would be placed in awkward and complicated situations, in which he or she must make decisions. Parents can earn money if they can guess what their teenager will do, and after the parents come back, the teenager can earn money by confessing. No more episodes were planned or filmed, due to the likelihood that once the episodes aired, potential subjects would quickly catch on to what was going on.


Role Model Clothing is a clothing line owned by Pierre and Chuck, who are often seen wearing the shirts onstage and in the band's music videos. The line mostly markets shirts, which invariably include the words "ROLE MODEL" in the design (how I wish I had one).

Have you seen the movies, Scooby Doo and Scooby-Doo 2? Simple Plan has a long standing affiliation with What's New, Scooby-Doo?. They perform the theme song and appear as themselves in the episode "Simple Plan and the Invisible Madman" in which excerpts of "The Worst Day Ever", ("You Don't Mean Anything", and the beginning of "I'd Do Anything" can be heard merely. Additionaly, "I'd Do Anything" and "You Don't Mean Anything" can be heard in the episodes "It's Mean, It's Green, It's the Mystery Machine" and "Simple Plan and the Invisible Madman" respectively (I've seen them all!).

The song "Grow Up" was used in the funny movie "Scooby Doo". The song "Don't Wanna Think About You" was used in the cute movie, Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed. The video for that song depicts the band racing across town to get to a premiere of a movie, only to arrive seconds late.

Although Simple Plan maintains a devoted following and has produced two multiplatinum records with numerous hit singles, it has received its share of mere and concluded criticism. Some members of the punk movement are especially hostile towards the band as they see them as trivializing their "culture". Moreover, the juvenile subject matter of some of their work (especially the first CD) provokes additional hostility from some music fans because of the fact that its members are now in their mid to late-twenties (but still they're cute).

Despite the criticisms, the members of Simple Plan have stated quite clearly that they enjoy the backlash of critics, as they believe in the old saying, "all publicity is good publicity", and that they will never stop doing what they love.

Friends + Ship = Friendship!

They said that "No man is an island" and I pretty believe in that. There are always friend around you to accompany you through life, to make you feel special and to help you make life to the fullest. "That's what friends are for.." as a song goes.

Friends will welcome each other's company and exhibit loyalty and honesty towards each other, often to the point of altruism. Their tastes will usually be similar and may converge, and they will share enjoyable things and stuffs. They will also engage in mutually helping behavior, such as exchange of advices and the sharing of hardships. A friend is someone who may often demonstrate reciprocating and reflective behaviors thus, making the other or others feel alright. Yet for many, friendship is nothing more than the trust that anyone or anything will not harm them. The true value of friendship is demonstrated when a friend does the following:

the tendency to desire what is best for the other,

sympathy and empathy,

honesty, perhaps in situations where it may be difficult for others to speak the truth,

mutual understanding.

In a comparison of personal relationships, friendship is considered to be closer than acquaintanceship, although there is a range of degrees of intimacy in both of them.




I myself own lots and lots of friends which i truly treasure from the bottom of my heart. Not just in UP (my recent school) but I also have countless friends in USPF (my Alma Mater), USJR, USC (NC, Main and Talamban Campuses), CIC and more. And I know that I will meet and make more and more friends in just a wink of an eye (don't know if I'll be able to do this). Well, my friends that are really close to me are Krystal, Beverly, Ma.Jane and Kathleen.

From the song itself, you could merely say and think that the teenagers nowadays are very out of control. And we can readily say that the adult generation is causing these things. When we watch or listen to the news, there were times when we see students going out of control, throwing stones at the policemen, burning cars and trucks. It were because their voices were never heard of by the authorities. The teens prefer to abscond themselves and hide their feelings instead. It was like their feelings are seemingly that abstrusse, which really are not. The adults would scarcely do what they think is best for them without even considering what these teenagers want or like to make the best out of themselves. But instead these adults made monsters out of the teens. It was like they were contoling the lives of the teen s which is barely correct. I mean, adults are htere just to guide us, teens, not to put us into slavery and make us do things unfavorable to us. When we just could not get what we want and do what we want to do, that is the time we rebel out and go wild. We need time, and we need space..really wide space.We have to understand each other. We have to understand that the adults of our lives just want to accompany us through life and want us to have better future.Now,what matters now this time is that they too, should understand us. They should not wrap us around their fingers. Our lives would surely be like a black abyss..When both sides understand each other, there will be world peace.

Born on the freaky day of September 6 year 1992, I grew up in Compostela, Cebu. When I was a youngster, my whole life was full of such innocence, immaturity and grace. But that was a long time ago, I am now on my fourteenth year in this unpredictable world.From a simple, innocent young girl transformed into a rebellious and frenzy teenage girl with such low self-esteem. Yeah, this might be shocking to those who are close to me but seriously, I am really a shy person. Sometimes my world is colorful but mostly now, all I can see are black and white. I have grown and changed a lot, just like the world has. You could discern the omens just by looking at my generation. I think I have awaken from a great slumber and all my immaturity has forsaken me. Realizing that gives me a sign of relief. I prove not just to myself but to the people as well that I am old enough to be free, independent. With my mother sometimes having a terrible temper on me, I thought I am a jinx. There is always a big space for fury in my heart. I hate being told what to do, to be criticized especially in front of many people, to be hurt physically or emotionally and I could pull all your hair off if you ever try to hurt even with a single pinch any part of the body of my loved ones. At the top of my lungs, I could scream how I hate to be in this world. That is mainly the reason why I always paste a smile on my face.

I love adventures. I love to discover new things. I love punks. I love hardcore music. I love funky stuffs. I love to sob. I hate emo boys. I hate lesbians. I hate all neon colors(they are all eyesores}. I hate disgusting and dirty stuffs. I hate pricks.

I really have many problems. As the day starts and as I was going to school, I wake up with a problem, "Where on earth are my socks?". As the day ends, I have a problem, "How in the world can I answer my assignments?".

But all of these problems would end up as a lesson to me. I learned to keep my things in their proper places so I would not spend too much time in finding for the things that I need. I learned to listen to my teacher and analyze the questions asked so I can answer them. I know that I surpassed these problems because God loves me very very much. He is always there to guide me through the paths of life. Whenever I am down,He always give me a hand to help stand up and continue my journey in life. Yeah, there are lots and lots of problems and temptations in this world. But no matter what, I can be brave enough to surpass these challenges.
