What A UP Student Is Not....

First of all,I want to greet my fellow UPians a happy, wonderful, beautiful, unforgetful and all '-fuls you could think of' day.I hope you are all enjoying every second of your life especially your highschool life.I know that this topic would definitely grab less of your interests.Maybe because of the fact that we already see and know what a UP student is in ourselves and to our fellow schoolmates. But this topic just want to waken up our minds to the facts of what a UP student surely is not.

A UP student is not the perfect person you could ever think of.
As we all know,"Nobody's perfect" and that would include us,UP students. Some would probably think we,UP students know everything, have the perfect combination of attitudes to be the ideal man God has created.Well, let me clarify that.We UP students are just ahead and well-informed than the other schools or institutes when it comes to information and attitude-building.That does not totally mean we can do anything like make ourselves float in the air.We were just admired because of our skills and intelligence. Many could hear in the tv,radios, newspapers anything about the success of UP professors and students.News totally influences them.

Being a UP student is not shameful.
Shameful maybe because of the fact that you might be mistaken as a nerd,as most of the people would totally think of if you say you are from UP.Just like me,I used to think that the students from UP are nerds, always bringing with them books about science, algebra, physics, etc. That is why I hesitated at first when my mother told me to take the HSAT but then came the time that I got myself wrong. Not all intelligent people are nerds after all.Nerds are those who passionately pursues intellectual or esoteric knowledge or pastimes, rather than engaging in a social life, participating in organized sports, or other mainstream activities, "unstylish, unattractive, or socially inept persons especially one slavishly devoted to intellectual or academic pursuits." as what the Webster's dictionary says, which obviously do not exactly describe the students of UP.Hello! The students of UP are even ahead when it comes to fashion, information and stuffs that are "in" in this new era.
A UP student is not rich.
Although some just hide their real wealth to the UP community, most of the UP students are poor or those who still need financial support.UP is a school for the underprivileged but deserving students so we should and can't question that.
A UP student is not a coward.
I could cite myself as an example to the people who have witnessed and heard how a UP student talks and defends himself or hersef,or any thing that he or she thinks is right or in the right direction. This is demonstrated just recently held"The Science Congress" where the fourth-year students defended their projects.
A UP student is not a loser.
We,UP students or the Iskolar ng Bayan wins. This does not necessarily mean that students from UP always win in different contests but when we lose in these competitions,we still think we are winners not just because we have given honor to our school but we win out of this competition by experience.Competing in different competitions would not just enhance our knowledge, tell our mistakes and where we should improve but gives us experience as well.Experience to show our skills to the other people and prove to ourselves that we can do more than we expect and that what make us UP students winners.
